  • Equipment and Gear. We use only high-quality, well-maintained equipment for all activities, conducting regular safety checks to ensure everything is in top condition.
  • Low Participant-to-Instructor Ratios. Keeping groups small allows for personalized attention and enhances safety during all activities.
  • Emergency Preparedness. Our team is equipped with emergency procedures, including immediate response strategies and communication plans with local emergency services.

Participation Policies: Ensuring a Great Experience for Everyone

  • Registration and Consent. All participants must register in advance and provide signed consent forms by a parent or guardian.
  • Age Guidelines. Programs are designed for specific age groups for optimal learning and safety. Please refer to program descriptions for age requirements.
  • Cancellation and Refunds. Full refunds are issued up to 2 weeks (14 calendar days) before the program start date. Within 2 weeks (less than 14 calendar days), a credit for future programs is issued.
  • Respectful Behavior. We promote a culture of respect, inclusivity and kindness. Participants are expected to adhere to these values at all times.

  • Health Forms. Parents/guardians must complete health forms detailing any medical conditions, allergies and medications.
  • Medication Policy. Staff can assist with administering prescribed medication as per written instructions from a healthcare provider.
  • Allergy Management. We strive to create a safe environment for participants with allergies and request detailed information to accommodate their needs.
  • In Case of Illness or Injury. Our staff are trained to provide first aid and will contact emergency services if needed. Parents/guardians will be notified immediately in such events.

What is the staff-to-child ratio in your programs? We maintain low staff-to-child ratios to ensure personalized attention and safety. Ratios vary by program type but typically range from 1:10 or 1:15, depending on the activity.

Do participants need any special gear or equipment? Most necessary gear and equipment are provided by O’Toolin Around. Any personal items required, such as clothing or specific gear, will be detailed in the program’s welcome packet and a meeting before the event.

How are emergencies handled during remote or wilderness programs? Our staff are equipped with communication devices and first aid supplies. We have detailed emergency plans, including evacuation procedures and nearest medical facility contacts, tailored to each program’s location.

Are there any health requirements for participation? Participants must complete a health form, and we may require a physician’s note for certain medical conditions. This ensures we can provide a safe and supportive environment for all participants. Regarding the ascent of a Colorado fourteener, there will be a prior stairstep test. However, most students scoring 50 or higher on their pacer test in PT class will be fine.

How do you accommodate children with special needs? We strive to be inclusive and accommodate special needs to the best of our ability. Please contact us to discuss any specific requirements or adjustments that may be necessary for your child’s participation.

What is your policy on bullying or disruptive behavior? We have a zero-tolerance policy for bullying and disruptive behavior. Participants are expected to treat everyone with respect, and any behavior contrary to this principle will be addressed immediately.
